AN OFFICIAL WARM UP RACE
FOR THE LA MARATHON

lamarathon

Your support is needed for the 8th Annual Say No to Drugs (SNTD) Race Holiday Classic - Drug Awareness and Education for kids.

The SNTD race is for all ages and ability levels. The race is organized and produced by Team Against Drugs - basically a small group of people being active about drug education and awareness in our community.

The objective of this race is to highlight and publicize, to people of all ages, that it is okay to Say No to Drugs and that we are doing something about this.

Funds collected go directly to making this race a success. Last year there were over 2,000 participants. The race participants and spectators were sworn in as Drug-Free Marshals - this is a popular program with youth groups and police enforcement agencies, which helps educate and empower youth in the the fight against widespread drug use. Proceeds will go to non-profits that specialize in drug awareness, education and prevention programs such as Drug-Free Marshal program and Friends of Narconon Rehabilitation program. Additionally, proceeds also go to the Boys & Girls Club of America.

If you have children, someone they know is trying drugs or will soon.

If you own a business, drug use in some form is eating into profits.

Did you know that 83 million people have "tried" marijuana at least once and that smoking marijuana leads to harder drugs?

"Let me summarize it as follows: During 20 years of examining human cells, I have never found any other drug, including heroin., which came close to the DNA damage caused by marijuana." From the Drug-Free Marshals Pamphlet (quote by Akira Morishima, Specialist in Cellular Heredity Columbia University).

We know that education and awareness lead to control over this problem - That is what this race is about and you can be a part of it.
Please contribute $200 or more and aid in the success of this race -
we can make a difference in the fight against drug use. If you cannot
do $200, whatever you can give will go a long way.

Drug Free Marshalls

Friends of Narconon
BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF AMERICA
Boys & Girls Clubs is a unique organization, whose goal is to provide every child with the essential tools needed for a bright and successful future. Since 1931, the vision of Boys & Girls Clubs has grown and evolved with the needs of our children. As the needs of our children and their families continue to change, so will the dynamics of our programs and services.

DRUG-FREE MARSHALS
The Church of Scientology International created and launched the “Drug-Free Marshals” youth drug-education and prevention program in 1993, a program to educate children as young as 6 on the dangers of drugs, and to challenge them to remain drug-free. They demonstrate their commitment by being “sworn in” as Drug-Free Marshals, pledging to remain drug-free and to encourage their peers to do the same.

FRIENDS OF NARCONON
Friends of Narconon's mission encompasses several areas to combat the drug problem such as:

• New Hope on the Drug Abuse Battleground
• Reducing the Growing Drug Problem
• Effective Drug Education
• Drug Addiction Referral Services
• Community Awareness and Support
